Important Dates

Call Opens: August 1st

MORA does not accept applications year-round.

We only receive submissions during specific open-call periods, which are announced on our website and social channels. Applications sent outside the designated timeframe will not be reviewed.

Who Can Apply
  • Artists from any discipline (painting, sculpture, installation, performance, mixed media, photography, new media, and more).

  • Emerging or mid-emerging artists looking to strengthen their practice.

  • International Artists.

  • Applicants must be min 21 years old and maximum 35 years old.

What We Offer

Every selected resident receives:​

  • Workspace adapted to your practice.

  • Necessary materials for your practice.

  • Guidance & mentorship from local artists, curators, and cultural agents.

  • Community engagement, connecting you with Monterrey’s creative ecosystem.

  • Participation on local exhibitions, talks, open studios and events.

What We Don´t  Offer
  • Housing or accommodation. Residents are responsible for arranging their own lodging.

  • Scholarships, grants, or financial funding. MORA does not provide a stipend or cover living expenses.

  • Flights or travel costs. Transportation to and from Monterrey is the resident's responsibility.

Application Requirements

To be considered, please submit:

  • Single PDF with:

  • Portfolio with recent work (PDF or website).

  • Artist Statement (max. 200 words).

  • Short Bio or CV (max. 1 page).

  • Project Proposal describing what you aim to explore or create during the residency (max. 1 page).

  • Working knowledge of English or Spanish (fluency not required — basic communication is enough).

Selected Criteria

Applications are reviewed by the MORA committee based on:

  • Artistic clarity and conceptual strength.

  • Coherence and quality of the portfolio.

  • The relevance of the proposal to the residency context.

  • Interest in cultural exchange and community engagement.

  • Feasibility of completing the project within the residency period.
